Rosh Hashanah 5769 September 29th sunset

Rosh Hashanah or " head of the year " is celebrated 162 days after the first day
of Pesach ( Passover ) and is one of the holiest days of the year. It is also a time of judgment when Jews examine their past deeds and ask for forgiveness for their sins, it is also a day of remembrance. The two days of Rosh Hashanah are considered,
" Yoma Arichtah " ( Aramaic: " one long day " ) Orthodox Judaism and Conservative Judaism observe both days. The Karaites Jews who don't accept, "oral law"
only observe one day (Tishrei) as that is all that is mentioned in the Torah. Rosh Hashanah meals usually include apples and honey for a, "sweet New Year ", It is also the New Year for people, animals, and contracts. Rosh Hashanah lasts for ten days ending with the holiday of Yom Kippur, (day of the atonements) considered the holiest day of the year. Jews fast for 25 hours, and pray.
